Jerry Pell's Obituary
Mr. Jerry Pell, age 51, of Spring Lake passed away unexpectedly November 18, 2009. He was born February 10, 1958, in Fremont, MI, to Marvin and Jessie (Luchies) Pell.
Jerry was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church of Grand Haven where he served as a cadet counselor for several years. He was a foreman for David C. Bos Homes and had served on the Building Committee for Western Michigan Christian High School. He was a talented woodworker who loved snowmobiling and water sports, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter. Jerry will be forever loved and missed by all who knew him and will always be remembered for his joyful and giving spirit, his passion for service, and his unwavering faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
On June 15, 1979, he married Nancy Kinkema in Grand Haven and she survives him along with 2 children, Scott (Jennifer) Pell of Hudsonville and Kristin (Daniel) Hamilton of Ann Arbor; 1 granddaughter, Addison Pell; his parents, Marvin and Jessie Pell; 3 brothers: John (Pat) Pell, Randy (Ann) Pell, and Rodney (Sharon) Pell; 1 sister, Julie (Steve) Bouwkamp. He is also survived by his father- and mother-in-law, Clyde and Jeanne Kinkema; 3 brothers- and sisters-in-law: Doug (Patty) Kinkema, Susan (Karl) French, Dale (Jill) Kinkema and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Phyllis Kinkema.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Second Christian Reformed Church (2021 Sheldon Rd, Grand Haven) with Rev. Edward Tamminga and Rev. Michael Koetje officiating. Visitation with the family will take place 2-4 and 7-9 PM Friday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in honor of Jerry may be given to Second Christian Reformed Church, Western Michigan Christian High School, or Habitat for Humanity.
