Jerry A. Shunk's Obituary
Jerry A. Shunk, age 86, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at SKLD Living Center. He was born January 7, 1938 in Muskegon to George and Blanche (Little) Shunk and was a lifelong resident. Jerry married Betty J. Shunk in Muskegon on June 21, 1958 and she preceded him in death on July 20, 2021. Jerry worked in machine repair for Muskegon Piston Ring and retired in 1990. He was a member of the UAW and the Old Engine Club for many years. Survivors include his 3 sons, Jay (Terri) Shunk, Tim (former wife, Kimberly) Shunk, Jeff (Trudy) Shunk; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Shunk; his son, Todd Shunk; his parents and 1 sister, Jackie (Lloyd) Pixley; and Tim’s significant other, Kathy Lynn Kinney. A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442, with Rev. Jerry Hagans officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
