Jessie Lovina Keck's Obituary
Mrs. Jessie L. (Oakes) Keck, age 99, passed into her heavenly Father’s arms on January 13, 2026, in her eldest son’s home, in Twin Lake, Michigan. She was born on May 20, 1926, to Burt and Zoe (Potter) Oakes, in Fremont, Michigan. Jessie married Marshall J. (Mac) Keck on February 17,1945. She is survived in death by her five children, Lynette (Daniel) Staples, Midland, MI, Patricia (James) Haley, Montague, MI, M. James (Toni) Keck, Twin Lake, MI, Mitchell (Donna) Keck, Haysville, KS, and Stephen (Jeana) Keck, Plainwell, MI. She had 14 grandchildren, 34 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband Mac, and six brothers and two sisters. Jessie worked at the Grant Public Schools as a bus driver, aide, and secretary for 16 years. She helped many young girls who knew they could come to her to talk and receive wise counsel. Before moving to Grant, MI, she worked as a bookkeeper for the YWCA in downtown Muskegon. She was a long-time member at Dalton Baptist Church, now Bridge Bible Church. She also attended North Casanova Baptist Church while living in Grant. She served in both churches as a Deaconess, Sunday school teacher, Nursery worker and with many church projects over the years. She enjoyed growing a large garden, fishing, and camping, all done with her husband. She was devoted to Jesus and served Him in many areas during her lifetime. She lives in the future of all who trust in Jesus. The Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Bridge Bible Church (3777 Holton Road, Muskegon, MI 49445). The family welcomes visitation at 10:00 AM, and a luncheon will follow. Mother will be buried in April, next to Dad, in the Hesperia West Cemetery. The date will be decided in early April, and it is open to family members and friends who wish to attend.
