Jessie M. Larson's Obituary
Mrs. Jessie M. Larson, age 94, passed away at home Sunday evening, December 13, 2009 following a brief illness. Jessie was born in Central Lake, MI on June 29, 1915 to Victor and Zella (Wolcott) Hemphill. She was a graduate of Muskegon Hts. H.S. and was employed as an operator at, G.T.E for 20+ years. She married Mr. Einar H. Larson in Muskegon in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 2001. Jessie was a devoted member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Muskegon Hts., was a former Girl Scout leader and was an active member of the Vasa Lodge. She was a current member of Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church. She is survived by her: son, James (friend, Nancy) Larson of Mission, TX; two daughters, Beverley (Raymond) Brown of Fruitport and Nancy (Edward) Chartrand of Fruitport; five grandchildren, Jim (Toni) Larson, Eric Larson, Denise (Jeff) Laufersky, Debbie Walsh and David (Laurie) Chartrand; brother, Victor “Bud” Hemphill of Norton Shores; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren and her caregiver and nephew Mike Archambault. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Hemphill and two sisters, Betty Archambault and Eloise Smith. The funeral service will be: 1:30 P.M., Thursday at Dr. Martin Luther Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1860 E. Hile Rd, Rev. Dennis Stroh officiating. She will be laid to rest in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at: The Lee Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 Wednesday, 5-7 P.M. and one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial Contributions: Dr. Martin Church or V.N.S. Hospice.
