Jill Marie Wall's Obituary
Jill Marie Wall, age 69, of Grand Haven passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, after spending the last forty-five days in North Ottawa Community Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek, MI battling with Covid-19.
She was born August 1, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, MI to Phillip Jacob and Dottie Jeannine (Howell) Meyers, and married Doug Wall on October 29, 1996, in Grand Haven, MI after her brother set them up on a blind date.
Jill worked as a waitress at numerous restaurants including, Ma Brown’s in New Mexico, Holiday Inn, Idle Hour, Russ’s, Vic’s, Turk’s and The Bil Mar. She also had owned her own candy shop. Her other interests were walking, riding her bike, gardening, cutting grass, feeding birds, water gardening and goldfish and frogs, metal detecting, fishing at Pottawatomi Bayou, listening to Christian music. Jill self-published a book entitled “Angel Mountain” and also illustrated many children’s books. She had a dislike for squirrels and snakes. Jill loved watching educational T.V. show and the Andy Griffith show.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Doug Wall; daughter, Lisa (Mark) Pelfresne; son, Michael (Jessica) Shinn; one grandchild, Riley DeBruyn; three great-grandchildren: Zane, Bradley and Morrison; mother-in-law, Virginia Wall; three sisters: Jackie Yore, Jeannie (Rick) Behm and Janice (Rich) Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Joshua Meyers, sister, Ginger Brege, brother, Jacob “Jake” Meyers.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 22, 2022, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417 with Pastor Ken Shady officiating. Friends may meet the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials to DeVos Children’s Hospital are appreciated.
