Jim D. Bishop's Obituary
Jim D. Bishop, age 78, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 7, 1943 in Muskegon to Henry and Thelma (Keith) Bishop and was a lifelong resident. Jim was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and plank owner of the U.S.S. Hunley. He worked over 30 years for Brunswick Corp and retired in 1998. Jim was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. On June 20, 1988, he married Patricia A. Predko with whom he shared many adventures and endured the antics of the following survivors: his wife Pat; 5 children, Andrew (Sherri) Bishop, James (Andrea) Bishop, Fiona Bishop, Henry (Kathy) Bishop, AJ (Darin) Keith; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers, Clifford, William and Jerry Bishop. The Funeral Liturgy will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 6, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 Sixth Street) with Rev. Charles D. Hall presiding. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444 where a Scripture Service will be held at 5:00 PM. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Church. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
