Jimmie E. Barton's Obituary
Jimmie Eddie Barton passed away peacefully at Robbinswood Assisted Living Facility on August 2, 2013 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, and infant daughter Melody. Jimmie served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, first as part of the occupation force in Japan, and later in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He received numerous medals and awards for his service, which included positions as a medic and air traffic controller. His service to his country was extremely meaningful to him, he wore his Army cap with great pride, and was a member of the local VFW and American Legion. Jimmie is survived by 3 sons, Jeffrey (Ann) Barton, William (Julie) Barton, and Timothy Barton; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Jimmie will be fondly remembered by special friends, Sheri and Lexi Byers; and his Robbinswood family. He will be laid to rest at Fort Donelson National Cemetery in Dover, TN.
