Joan L. Jagnecki's Obituary
Joan L. Jagnecki, age 90, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away Friday morning, January 4, 2019. She was born July 30, 1928 in Chicago, IL to Albert and Mary (Soltes) Mladucky, was raised in Freesoil, MI, and moved to Muskegon in 1947. On October 1, 1949, she married Leo J. Jagnecki in Muskegon at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on April 28, 2009. Joan was a faithful member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and attended mass regularly. She was a Boy Scout leader, a great cook, expert baker, and enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, and working in her yard. SURVIVORS include 8 children: Gloria Holmblade of Muskegon, Patricia (David) Crowell of Twin Lake, Leo (Sandy) Jagnecki of Twin Lake, Linda Jagnecki of Muskegon, Thomas (Jeanette) Jagnecki of Twin Lake, David (Debra) Jagnecki of Muskegon, Edward Jagnecki of Twin Lake, Nancy (Lyle) Robbins of Muskegon; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Stanley Slawinski of Manistee; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, John Jagnecki; granddaughter, Jacqueline Jagnecki; 3 grandsons, Tom Jagnecki, Graham Jagnecki, and Dominic Crowell; 4 brothers: John, Tony, Frank and Joseph; 5 sisters: Rose, Mary, Lillain, Frances, and Helen. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum presiding. The Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 AM Wednesday morning followed by VISITATION from 10:00 AM until the start of Mass at 11:00 AM. Entombment will take place in St. Mary’s Mausoleum. Memorials to Catholic Charities or the United Way of the Lakeshore will be appreciated.
