Joan was a beloved friend to my mom Jan and like a second mother to me through the years — as she was my best friend Julie’s mom. I spent many overnights at the McGills. Joan introduced me to camping and quickie pies over the fire. She was a force of joy, creativity, devotion and vitality. The world is much more blessed to have had 92 years of Joan!
We will surely miss her!

My cousins were awesome. I was one of the young ones in the crowd. Joan and Jim were a big part of my life from birth through 18 or so. They both always had a smile and a firm belief in the Lord!
I only knew Joan as a member of my fitness classes in Edina, but she was every bit of this beautiful tribute, even into her last days. She truly delighted in others and the world around her. I’m glad I got to experience her bright light. Well done, Joan. Heaven is your reward. ❤️
