Joan Patricia Mikula's Obituary
Joan Patricia Mikula, age 83, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at the Leila and Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence. She was born July 3, 1939, in Janesville, WI, to David and Vivian (Beste) Rajek. Joan married Richard Mikula on June 20, 1967, and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1970. In her younger years, she worked as a waitress and later for over 25 years as a Certified Nursing Assistant for various organizations, including Visiting Nurses of Muskegon.
Joan enjoyed sewing, bowling, doing yardwork, and spending time with her friends and longtime companion, Alvin Philo. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Susan (Jason) Jespersen; grandchildren, Dylan, Reese, Eric, and Ryan Jespersen; brother, Gary (Linda) Rajek; sister, Coleen (Russ) Wiggins; sister-in-law, Karla Rajek; nieces, Amanda (Anthony) Torres and Pamela (David) Halbach; and nephew, Mike (Pam) Keppler. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Danny Rajek; sister, Maxine Keppler; and companion, Alvin Philo.
VISITATION with the family will be held 6-8 PM on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444).
