Joan E. Port's Obituary
Joan Ellyn Port age 78, of Muskegon, Mi died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Poppen Hospice Residence.
Joan was born on October 2, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Gerald and Jessie (Vanderhoof) Cotton. She married Charles F. Port on June 6, 1950 in Muskegon, Michigan. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2002. The family would like to thank the Poppen Hospice Home for all of their care and compassion.
Joan is survived by: 2 Sons: Charles (Susan) Port of Chrystal Falls, MI and Michael (Paula) Port of Ravenna. 2 Daughters: Carol E. Port and Terry Grimard of Muskegon and Judith A. (Michael) Furman of Maryland. 7 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren 2 Brothers: Pete Cotton of North Carolina and Howard (Chanssa) Cotton of Oregon and 1 Sister: Shirley Gleason of Oregon.
Joan was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband Charles by 3 Sisters: Norma, Lois and Judith.
Funeral Services for Joan E. Port will be conducted on Friday, July 29, 2011 at 11:00am at the Ravenna Baptist Church in Ravenna with Pastor Michael Wetzig officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Muskegon.
The family will be at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00pm to receive friends and again on Friday at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
