Joan J. Raap's Obituary
Joan J. Raap, age 74, passed away at home on April 15, 2026. She was born on February 8, 1952, to John Keur and Diannetta Krueger. Joan worked for Egelston Township since 1992, spending the last 26 years as Egelston Township Clerk, and has touched so many lives with the people she helped. She enjoyed her family, baking cookies, cooking big dinners, volunteering in the community, and spending time at casinos. On May 5, 1972, she married George J. Raap in Muskegon, and he preceded her in death in 2021. SURVIVORS include four children, Bruce Raap (Maranda), Adam (Devon) Raap, Nick (Trina) Raap, and Sarah Raap (Cameron); 13 grandchildren, Saidee, Olivia, Adrianna, Blake, Seth, Lane, Ty, Tenley, Zack, Taylor, Kelsey, Lylli, and Ava; great-grandchildren, Violet, Lane, and Vivian; and sisters, Judy Rottman and Caron Tobey. Joan was also preceded in death by her parents. A VISITATION GATHERING will be held at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442, from 10am to 11am on Thursday, April 23, 2026. A PRIVATE FAMILY GRAVESIDE will be held at a later time at Egelston Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to Hospice of Michigan in Joan’s name.
