Joan E. Rumohr's Obituary
Joan Rumohr, age 75, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023 at the Compassion Home, in Fremont, Michigan after a short battle with cancer. Joan was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 23, 1948 to Glen and Margaret Kamhout. She married the love of her life, Jack Rumohr, in May of 1979. Jack preceded her in death on July 4, 2011. She is survived by her children; Carrie Simmons and Clifford Rumohr; her siblings, Chase Kamhout, Dean Kamhout, Lynn Nuttell, Prudence (Bruce) Moore and Scott (Melissa) Kamhout. Grandchildren; Ollie, Tevin, Thomas, and John. Great grandchildren; Tevin Jr., Aniyah, Ollie III, Drew, Dalaya, Ella, Leila, Naomi and Anna. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents Glen and Margaret Kamhout and her grandson, Malik Houston. Joan earned her degree as an LPN at Hackley School of Nursing and went to be a respiratory therapist at Mercy Hospital and later at Zeeland Hospital. She was an avid reader and quilter. She and her husband traveled extensively in their RV. The memorial for Joan will be Saturday December 23rd at First Lutheran Church, 1206 Whitehall Rd., Muskegon, MI. at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Newaygo County Compassion Home, 20 S. Stewart Ave., Fremont, MI 49412. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
