Mrs. Joan Elaine Brandenburg Serra Seeling, age 82, died Saturday November 8, 2014 in Sarasota, FL. She was born January 19, 1932in Detroit, MI and has spent her summers in the Muskegon area the past 5 years. She had been a Secretary at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Winter Haven, FL for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1994. She attended Kainay Community Church and enjoyed home decorating, gardening, traveling and “her” Red Wings and Detroit Tigers. She is survived by her husband, Mitchell (Mike) Seeling; 3 children, Diane M (Russell) Buys of Muskegon and John J. (Chris) Serra , both of Muskegon, Michelle J. (Robert) Hill of Venice, FL; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Sharon A. Mahoney of Commerce Twp., MI and 1 brother, Jeffrey W. (Karen) Brandenburg of Commerce Twp., MI. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Lawrence Serra; 1 son, Fredrick, her parents, 1 brother and 1 sister. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:30PM Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100), with the Rev.
