Joan K. Huey's Obituary
Mrs. Joan K. Huey, age 71, passed away Saturday evening, April 10, 2010. She was born April 23, 1938 in Ionia County, MI to Clifford and Katherine (Yerge) Smith. Joan worked in the bakery at Plumb’s in North Muskegon for 5 years before retiring. She was a member of the Lithuanian Club, volunteered on the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper, had a passion for gardening, and enjoyed making crafts. On May 17, 1976 she married Stanley H. Huey in Vicksburg, MI and he survives her along with 6 children, Jim (Terri) Fedewa of Norton Shores, Carla (Jeff) Root of Twin Lake, Cathy (Perry) Kotick of Columbus, OH, MaryAnn Hack of Anaheim, CA, Stanley Huey, Jr. of Riverside, CA, Karen Spohen of Fullerton, CA; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Ken (Pat) Smith of Ionia, MI, Jake Smith of Las Vegas, NV, Floyd Smith of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 5 children, Michael Miller, Deb Fedewa, Alec Miller, Michael and Richard Huey. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. (231) 726-5210 with Jeffrey Byron officiating. Burial will be in Stony Lake Cemetery, Benona Twp.
