Joann M. Merriman's Obituary
Mrs. Joann M. Merriman, age 73, passed away at the Poppen Residence on June 20, 2012. She was born on January 26, 1939 to Peter and Mae (Wierema) Start in Muskegon. On September 17, 1960 she married Glenn Merriman and he preceded her in death on January 12, 2002. Joann was a member of Evanston Ave. Baptist Church. She worked 30 years as a bookkeeper for Muskegon Bank and Trust and also First of America prior to her retirement. Family was first and foremost for Joann but she also enjoyed her time bowling and golfing. SURVIVORS include 2 daughters, Elizabeth (Troy) Gardner and Amy (Jeff) Hunter both of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, Jeremiah (Sarah), Kristie (Jason), Cody, Brittany, Eve and 4 great-grandchildren; Caydence, Madisyn, Kennedy and Chase; sister, Betty (Gary) Mosher, sister-in-law, Gina Start and many nieces and nephews. Joann was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Start. FUNERAL SERVICE will be 12:00 PM Monday, June 25, 2012 at Evanston Ave. Baptist Church (1188 Evanston Ave.) with Pastors Shane Prewitt and Al Engstrom officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210
and one hour prior at the church. MEMORIALS to Evanston Avenue Baptist Church or Poppen Residence would be appreciated. Burial will take place at Egelston Twp. Cemetery.
