Joann Michael's Obituary
JoAnn Michael, aged 69, passed away peacefully at her home on November 12, 2024, in Norton Shores, Michigan. Known for her quick-witted, hilarious personality, JoAnn was kind hearted and giving. She was the best-looking Starnes in a long line of amazing looking Starnes’. JoAnn dedicated over 40 years to caring for people through her work with Moka, and her commitment to service was evident in her long-standing roles as a bartender and customer service at various retail organizations. JoAnn's love for life was infectious. She enjoyed playing pool, singing karaoke, and was an avid fan of comedy shows and movies. Her presence brought laughter and joy to all who knew her. She is survived by her loving partner, Mark Stuart, and a large family who adored her immensely, including her brother Frank Starnes and his wife Jeanie, sister-in-law Susan Starnes, nieces Jennifer Clemente and Rebecca Harris, and nephews Robert and his wife Pamela, Thomas and his wife Athena, and James Starnes. JoAnn was preceded in death by her father Francis Starnes, mother Anna Katherine Starnes, and brother William Starnes. A celebration of JoAnn's life will be held in December at the Polish Falcon, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of JoAnn can be made to Moka at moka.org, an organization she passionately supported. JoAnn's legacy of warmth, generosity, and laughter will forever resonate with those who were fortunate to know her.
