Joann Slater's Obituary
Joann Slater, age 77, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Allendale. She was born August 23, 1940 in Muskegon to Alvin and Marie (Kramer) DeVries and was a life resident of the area. She married David N. Slater on June 29, 1962 in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on January 19, 2013. Joann had worked over 20 years as a sales associate for J. Krautheim Jewelers and retired in 2003. She had attended Fifth Reformed Church. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Steven (Terri) Slater, Mike (Shannon) Slater; 2 granddaughters, Leigha Slater, Michaella Slater; 1 great-grandson, Carter Glover; 1 brother, Ronald (Emily) DeVries; and 1 sister, Darlene (Ronald) Derr. Besides her husband, David, she was also preceded in death by her parents. In accord with Joann’s wishes, a private service has taken place. Arrangements handled by The Lee Chapel, 6291 S.
