Joanne Claire Hill's Obituary
Joanne Claire Hill, age 90, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023, in Winter Haven, FL. She was born August 29, 1932, in Muskegon Heights, MI, to Roy and Katie (Madderom) Lundquist. She attended Muskegon Heights High School and graduated in 1950. On October 12, 1951, she married Claude Kramer, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She was then blessed to marry David Hill on September 6, 1997, and he preceded in death on November 26, 2012.
Joanne attended the Peggy White Beauty Academy and became a licensed beautician in 1969. She worked at Vertie Hair Salon for many years and continued to do hair for clients even after she “retired”. She enjoyed having a good time. She loved to dance, go to the casino, and have family get-togethers. She also liked to play the piano and travel. She spent her winters in Winter Haven, FL and was proud to be a member of American Legion Post’s in both Michigan and Florida. She attended Covenant Community Church in Muskegon Heights, where she sang in the choir, and First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven, FL.
Joanne will be dearly missed by her children, Claudia (Mark Sr.) Langlois, Roxanne (Andy) Hofstra, Marcia Wainwright, and Paula (Randy) Mosley; 13 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Patricia Zimmer; and special friend, Bill Jordan. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen Graves; grandsons, James Graves and Kevin Graves; sister, Dorothy Hislop; brother, Leroy Lundquist; and son-in-laws, Jack Wainwright and James Graves.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444) with VISITATION with the family 1 hour prior to the service.
