Joanne "Jeannie" F. Penny's Obituary
Joanne “Jeannie” F. Penny, age 88, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2022. She was born on April 26, 1934, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jeannie was a very active and involved mother. She was a den mother for the boy scouts, girl scout leader, room mother at Bunker school and a band mother. As her children grew older her volunteering didn’t stop and she worked as a guide at the Hackley House for over 25 years. She was a member of the Lakeside Eagles. Jeannie loved reading and spending time and traveling with her beloved family. On December 1, 1956, she married the love of her life, Richard Penny, and they spent 60 loving years together until his passing in March of 2017. Jeannie is survived by her children, Brian (Kathy) Penny, Kim (Jeff) Burr; grandchildren, Heather (Mitch) Swanson, Holly Penny, Jamie Penny, Stephen Penny, Michelle Penny, Rachel Burr; great granddaughter, Eloise Swanson; brother, David (Debbie) Foy; sister, Darlene Osbo; sister-in-law, Charlene Foy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor and John Foy; brother, Norman Foy; son, Michael Penny; grandson, Matthew Burr; and great grandchild, Hendrik Swanson. A graveside service for Jeannie will take place on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Lakeside Cemetery.
