Joanne L. Nordin's Obituary
Joanne L. (Kauffman, Crispen) Nordin, age 83, of Holland, MI passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at her home at Freedom Village. She was born on November 15, 1932 in Harrisburg, PA to John and Dorothy (Einzig) Kauffman. On January 22, 1983, she married Dr. Ivan C. Nordin and joined him in Michigan.
Joanne was a choir member, elder and Stephens Minister at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven and also a member at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Satellite Beach, FL. Earlier, she was a choir member and elder at Pine Street Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg, PA. She was a member of the PEO. She loved to cook, read, travel and entertain, but most importantly enjoyed and basked in her family. Joanne was a real estate agent until retirement in 1995.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan; children: Constance (Joseph) Brogna, Cynthia (Joseph) Crispen Mangiardi, Mark (Maria) Crispen, Jane (Larry) Bednarz, Beth (Jeff) Riviere, and Dr. Mark (Karen) Nordin; grandchildren: Reese Crispen, Greta Crispen, Joseph Mangiardi, Christopher Mangiardi, Javier Rosales, Adrian Rosales, Isabel Rosales, Kelly (Matt) Firing, Megan (JP) Stokes, Rachel Riviere, Michelle (Brent) Jandron, Christy (Chris) King, Tess Nordin, and Kate Nordin; 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters: Trudy Kauffman and Darlene Kauffman; many nieces and nephews; and her former husband, Dr. James Crispen and his wife, Sue. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eleanor Carnes & step-son, Erik D. Nordin.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 12, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church of Grand Haven with Rev. Jill VanderWal officiating. Visitation will be at a reception immediately following the memorial service.
