Joanne Witham's Obituary
Joanne Witham, age 79, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, in Coopersville, MI. She was born March 3, 1946, in Muskegon, MI to Joseph and Norma (Cook) Ferencsik. After graduating from Muskegon Heights High School, she went on to work for Request Foods, where she retired from in 2008.
On June 8, 1977, Joanne married her best friend, Wayne Witham, and together they spent 48 years making many loving memories together. Joanne and Wayne enjoyed traveling to San Diego and Las Vegas together, exploring the many attractions. She also was known for having a sweet tooth, with her favorite being ice cream. You could also find her dancing, especially to Elvis or any type of 50’s music. Joanne was selfless, she would do anything for anyone and she loved deeply. No matter who you were, she loved you. Joanne’s family and dogs meant the world to her.
Joanne will be remembered by her husband, Wayne; five children: Lou (Terri) Horan, Karen (Randy) Steinhauer, Bob (Kristi) Horan, Duane (Jodi) Witham and Cathy (Mike) Stoker; nine grandchildren: Tony (Michelle), Sarah (Logan), Elizabeth (Craig), Rachel (Alan), Ayden, Ethan, Ashley, Brayden and Gavin; eight great-grandchildren: Keleigh, Jordan, Rowan, Vincent, Liam, Eli, Fiona, and a baby boy on the way; brother, Jeff (Cindy) Ferencsik; sister, Jan (Hank) Waldo; beloved dog, Maggie Mae; and many nieces, nephews and many, many, many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Mikey Stoker; and her dog, Bailey.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to American Alzheimer’s Association.
