Mrs. Joanne Kay Wright's Obituary
Joanne Kay Wright, age 76, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016. Ted and Carol (Hillyer) Burkall celebrated the birth of their daughter Joanne on January 3, 1940 in Muskegon. Joanne was the second born of four children, a sister Carolyn Marie, two brothers Tom and Allen. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn Marie, brother Tom and her parents. Joanne will be greatly missed by her family and friends that she loved very much. Her children are: Cindy [Philip] Kowalski of Muskegon, Sherrie Wright of Twin Lake, Rayleen [Melvin] Poindexter of Whitehall, and Kevin [Kay] Wright of Muskegon; her grandchildren: Brandon Wright, Aaron (Tawnie) Poindexter, Amy Gorski (Poindexter), Nathan Valk, Ryan Poindexter, Tyler Poindexter, and Denver Wright; her great-grandchildren; her brother Allen Burkall; and aunts, uncles, several nieces and nephews. Joanne had been employed by the Mona Shores School District as a bus driver and custodian. She loved camping, boating, traveling and spending time with her family. A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St, 231-798-1100 with Pastor John Brown officiating. VISITATION will be 6-8 PM Monday evening, February 1, 2016 and one hour prior to the Tuesday service. Burial will be made in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Johnson Family Cancer Center.
