Joel Fynewever's Obituary
Mr. Joel Fynewever, age 60, of Spring Lake passed away Sunday, March 10, 2018 at home. He was born July 31, 1957 in Grand Rapids to Donald and Wilma (Gordon) Fynewever.
Joel graduated from Michigan Tech as an electrical engineer. He was skilled in design and development of many products. Much of his engineering career was spent in the defense industry in Michigan, California and Florida. Joel had an inquisitive mind and was always interested in researching a variety of subjects and topics. He was a faithful son, brother and an interesting uncle.
He is survived by two siblings, Mary (Gregg) Keeton of Spring Lake; John (Pat) Fynewever of Byron Center; four nieces and nephews: Meredith (Chris) Mast, Ryan (Emma) Fynewever, Emily (Brad) Hosler, and John (Amanda) Keeton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Wilma.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Friday, May 11, 2018 at The Spring Lake Chapel (213 E. Savidge St.) with Pastor Justin Smith officiating. Memorial contributions in memory of Joel’s mother may be given to The Wilma Jean Fynewever Nursing Scholarship at the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation.
