Joel Martin Kantola age 57 of Ravenna, died Thursday, January 2, 2014 unexpectedly at home. Joel was born on May 14, 1956 to Arnold and Ruth (Johnston) Kantola. He married JoAnn (Schuiteman) Kantola. Joel is survived by his wife Read Obituary
Joann, we just found about Joel's unexpected passing and are so sorry for your loss. Please know that our hearts go out to you and your family with our deepest sympathy. I was deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Joel. I shared on office with Joel while he was employed here in McConnelsville, Ohio and I am a better person for it. We had many conversations about work, life, sports, etc. Since I am a big sports fan we were always jabbing each other about our respective sports teams and Joel always crosses my mind when I see the Lions or Spartans on television. Most importantly Joel always expressed a deep affection for his family and his love for you was obvious. May God's peace and comfort be with all of you during this diffucult time.

Joel Kantola was a dedicated coworker,
a smart guy with a lot of common sense,
who did not discriminate based on gender (female engineers), and was a pleasure to have worked with at Sealed Power(Dana). I would work with Joel any day because he did make work fun. He talked about his family, wife and sons, because he cared so much about them. Joel was a special person.
He was also an American Foundryman.
Joel will be very much missed because the world needs more people like him.

OUCH. You lost one of my most favorite
persons in this world. Joel trained me as a Metallurgist in the Ravenna Lab of Sealed Power. He did a super job and always showed me a good time at work as we respected each other like Brothers. I should have kept in touch with him. I know I had his ph# before I went back to school. If I didn't have Joel at SP, I wouldn't have succeeded. My respect-It's not fair.
