Johanna T. Hackney's Obituary
Mrs. Johanna T. Hackney, age 78, died Thursday, January 27, 2005 in Muskegon. She was born on June 4, 1926 to Jacob and Angie (Vlasma) Bosch, and had resided in the Muskegon area all of her life. Mrs. Hackney was a member of First Christian Reformed Church, where she served as a Calvinette Leader for many years. She was a bus driver for Muskegon Christian Schools, and also worked for J.C. Penney. On June 23, 1950 she married Ernest Hackney, and he survives her along with children, Norma (Steve) Ring of Montague, Barb (Don) Hackenberg of Ravenna, Karen (Steve) Emelander of Hudsonville, James (Sandy) Ring of Muskegon; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Dorothy Scanlon of Muskegon. Mrs. Hackney was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cheryl Ring; granddaughter, Jamie Stevens; and sister, Tillie Thomas. SERVICES will be 3 PM Saturday at Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. 231-726-5210 with Rev. Michael Borgert officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 3-5 & 7-9 PM Friday. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorial Contribution to Muskegon Christian School would be appreciated.
