John (Hans) Lutz's Obituary
John (Hans) Jacob Lutz, age 91, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, January 5, 2006, in Grand Haven. He was born March 15, 1914 to Frank and Elizabeth (Gross) Lutz in Chicago, IL; and he married Leona Ann Moll on August 3, 1946 in Grand Haven. She passed away on June 25, 2001. Mr. Lutz was a West Michigan resident most of his life and retired from Oldberg Manufacturing Co. after many years of service. He was a member of the Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Holland and a former member of the former Robinson St. John’s Lutheran Church. John played the concertina and was a member of the Muskegon Concertina Club and a member of the Grand Haven Senior Center. He also enjoyed playing cards and farming. Survivors include three daughters, Jane (Jerry) Smith of Holland, Shirley (Jerry) Williams and Sue Hitsman both of Grand Haven; two sons, John C. Lutz and Alfred W. (Cathy) Lutz both of Grand Haven; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Marlene Moll of Grand Haven, Gertrude Moll of Spring Lake, Charlene “Helen” Van Sweden of Kalamazoo; a brother-in-law, Don Moll of Grand Haven; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Edward Hitsman Jr., son-in-law, Ed Histman; sisters, Catherine Mahder, Augusta Breutzman, Amalia Kaminske, Minnie Vormittag and Marie Rosin; brothers, Joe, George and Carl Lutz.
A funeral service for John (Hans) J. Lutz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Daniel McQuality officiating. Friends may meet the family 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home in Grand haven. Interment will be in Robinson Township Cemetery, Grand Haven.
