John Frederick Augustin's Obituary
Mr. John Fredrick Augustin, age 72, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 11, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Camden, New Jersey on December 13, 1950 to James and Jeanne (Snyder) Augustin Sr. John went to St. Rose Elementary and Haddon Heights High School, and kept his lifelong friends from those days close to him. On September 17, 1977, John married the former Ann Edquist in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. John graduated from Drexel University of Philadelphia with a bachelor’s degree in Business. He was employed by Brunswick Corporation for 21 years in financial services. He later purchased a Guardsman Woodpro furniture repair franchise and was the owner and operator until his retirement in 2010. John was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Spring Lake. He was an active volunteer at the Muskegon Heritage Museum where he enjoyed serving as a docent and “work group guy.” John was a master tinkerer, he loved photography, golf, a good fireworks display, and most importantly, spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ann; two children, Timothy Augustin and Sookyung “Amy” Augustin; his brother, James (Jeanne) Augustin Jr.; and all of Ann’s loving family. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 25, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (406 E. Savidge St., Spring Lake, MI 49456) with Fr. William Vander Werff presiding. VISITATION will be from 5-7 PM Friday, February 24, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with the ROSARY prayed at 4:30PM.
