I had Mr. Baustert for a teacher for both 5th and 6th grades at McLaughlin School in Muskegon. He was such a good teacher, and prepared us well to advance on to Junior High. I was a fairly good student, and would often finish assignments early, sometimes then distracting my classmates. He helped teach me to harness those energies in a more productive manner, sometimes jokingly, sometimes more strictly, but always caringly. Also, we always looked forward to the class trip to his farm. Such good times we had.

Your father was a wonderful father and man. I will remember his tan face and great smile. I can still hear his laughter along with my dad's while they were playing cards in Michigan and Arizona. I still have the jewerly box that I received at my 40th birthday party as his gift as he was my godfather. I will miss him and my thoughts go out to all 9 of you during this time of grief.
