John A. Bell's Obituary
John A. Bell, age 64, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Trinity Health - Muskegon Campus. He was born on August 14, 1960, in Muskegon, MI, to Ivan and Elaine (McPherson) Bell.
John was a hardworking and determined man, dedicating 40 years of service as a plant manager at Structural Concepts before retiring. He was known for his sharp sense of humor, unwavering positivity, and an incredible work ethic that earned the admiration of all who knew him.
A true outdoorsman, John had a deep passion for hunting and fishing, especially ice fishing on Saginaw Bay. He found joy in nature and cherished every opportunity to be outside. But beyond his love for the outdoors, John was a man with an immense heart—kind, compassionate, and welcoming to everyone he met. He never knew a stranger, and his generosity and warmth left a lasting impact on those around him.
On July 28, 2017, he married the love of his life, Shelly Sterling, in Fremont, MI. John is survived by his wife, Shelly Bell; his two sons, John (Dani) Bell and Josh (Monique) Bell; five stepdaughters, Amber (Glenn) Ward, Stacey Stevens, Alyssia Stevens, Autumn Stevens, and Maranda Bancroft; 14 beautiful grandchildren. His brother, Robert Bell; and three sisters, Deon (Per) Nielsen, Sue (Skip) Calkins, and Judy Bell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jim Bell, and 2 sisters Cindy Toleson and Barbara Bell.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444, with Pastor Aaron Gregory officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service with a luncheon starting at noon after the service.
