Mr. John L. Black's Obituary
Mr. John L. Black, age 86, went to be with his Lord on Thursday, March 21, 2013. He was born in Muskegon, MI on October 8, 1926 to Clair and Claribel (Bellinger) Black and was a life resident of the area. Mr. Black had been employed by CW Marsh Leather Packing for 35 years before retiring in 1989 and was a member of Teamsters. John was a member of the Church of the Body of Christ. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, collecting music, and collecting guns. On March 31, 1948, John married the former Gloria Ruth Sparkes in Sparta, MI and she survives him along with 4 daughters, Clara (Walter) Lesiw, Sarah (Mark) Wheeler, Laura (Brian) Waldron, and Martha Eilers; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Bolt; his parents; and a son-in-law, Ray Eilers. VISITATION will be from 2-3:00 PM Tuesday. SERVICES will be 3:00 PM Tuesday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., 231-726-5210.
