Mr. John Harmon Carney Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. John Harmon Carney, Sr., age 75, of Spring Lake (formally of Muskegon), passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2016. He was born on February 1, 1941 to Darrell and Lucille (Chingman) Carney. John retired from Kaydon in 1988, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. John was an active Jehovah Witness and he attended the local Kingdom Hall. In June of 1960, John married Patsy Bates in Muskegon and she survives him along with their four children; John (Sherri) Carney, Jr., Angela Carney, Tina (Michael) Buchbinder, and Michael (Irma) Carney; grandchildren, Anthony, Justin, Cody, Kylaar, Braylon, Xavier, and Briseis; great-grandchildren, Jayde, Lyric, Hendryx; brothers and sister; Pat Williams, Darrell (Pat) Carney, Jim Carney, Eva Giles, Darlene Boley, and Dora Carney. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Alford and Michael; sisters, Pauline and Mary Jo. A MEMORIAL service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-781-1100.
