John "Frank" Carroll's Obituary
John “Frank” Carroll, age 89, passed away in Muskegon, MI, on Saturday, January 24, 2026. He was born in Pikeville, KY, on January 18, 1937, to Lawrence and Cora (McCown) Carroll. On June 24, 1967, he married the former Loretta McKellar, and the two of them spent 57 wonderful years building their family together until she passed in 2024. Frank was a hard worker, spending over 30 years employed at CWC Textron. He loved to spend time outdoors, whether it was deer hunting, camping in Newaygo State Park, working on cars, or fishing on the Muskegon River. He had a great sense of humor and was a gifted storyteller. He was a kind man with a big heart who always helped others however he could. More than anything he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Frank will be lovingly remembered by two sons, Steve (Renee) Klingler and John (Megan) Carroll II; five grandchildren: Chris (Amy) Carroll, Jeremy Klingler, John (Katie) Lock, John (Kayla) Carroll III, and Alexis Carroll; five great-grandchildren: Madison, Kaycee, Jessica, Travis, and John IV; and six siblings: Jettie Johnson, Jesse Carroll, Valarie (James) Rich, Marsha Goodman, Ferman (Paula) Carroll, and Randy Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Cora Carroll; wife, Loretta Carroll; son, Clifford Carroll; brother, Bill Carroll; and sisters, Linda Trost and Wanda Williams.
Details regarding a Celebration of Life for Frank will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society.
