John K. Fisher's Obituary
Mr. John K. Fisher, age 75, died peacefully, Wednesday afternoon, June 27, 2018 at the Poppen Residence. He was born December 2, 1942 in Long Beach, CA to Faye Brown and Mary Rose (Kauffman) Fisher. He then moved to Idaho where he resided until moving to Muskegon in 1974. He had been a Chemical Engineer for Howmet from 1974 until his retirement in 1998. Previously, John had been involved in the manufacturing and management of Nuclear power as a Nuclear Engineer. John had several patents while working for Timet Corp. of Henderson, NV. He was also chosen, as a civilian, by the U.S. Department of Navy to train Naval personnel to operate their Nuclear Submarines. John also previously had served on the Whitehall District Schools Board of Education. He has attended Allen Ave. Christian Reformed Church and was a lover of games. On February 1, 1971 he married the former Vicky J. Ellsworth and she survives him along with 4 children, Bret (Amy) Fisher of Haymarket, VA, Jeffery Fisher of Idaho Falls, ID, Ryan (Kelly) Fisher of Grandville, MI and Raegan (Harold) Virgil of Reno, NV; 10 grandchildren, Devynn, Brody and Nathan (Dawn) Fisher, Jessica (William) Sherlin, Chance, Karlie, Kaselynn and Caden Fisher, Wyatt & Riley Virgil; son-in-law, John Webster of Pocatello, ID; 1 brother, Gary (Cheryl) Fisher of Reno, NV and 1 sister, Fawnell (Jess) Blankenship of Gresham, OR; and by several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Gina Webster (May 2018) and grandson, Matthew Fisher (June 2007). Private family services will be held.
