John R. Gardner's Obituary
John R. Gardner, age 94, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Muskegon. He was born on April 16, 1924 in Williamston, MI and resided in the area most of his life. John was a past member of Crestwood United Methodist Church, and worked at Browne-Morse before retiring. On October 21, 1949, he married the former Mary Ruth Strohm and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2010. SURVIVORS include his two daughters, Marian (Phil) Perry of Twin Lake and Loraine (George) Rogers of Muskegon; four grandchildren, Angela (Mike) St. Croix, Phil (Mike) Valley-Perry, Derek (Rebecca) Perry, and Dustin Perry; nine great grandchildren, Kailey, Taylor, Damien, Ashley, Michael, Lucas, Chloe, Cameron and Madison; one great-great grandson, Silas; and close family friends, Bob and Barbara Hadley. John was also preceded in death by his son, Loren in 1950; and his parents, Claude and Marian Gardner. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 1PM Thursday, July 5, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service, from 12-1 PM. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery.
