John J. "Jack" Greiner's Obituary
Mr. John J. “Jack” Greiner, age 82, passed away peacefully at his home of 75 years on Monday, October 8, 2012, surrounded by his family. Jack was born May 26, 1930 to Louis and Gladys (Brickey) Greiner in Grand Rapids. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1948. On April 27, 1957 he married the former Marlene (Bennett) Whitaker in Muskegon. Jack began working in the poultry business and then held various sales route positions; the last being a detailer for Frito-Lay for several years. Jack will be remembered for his strong will and determination in life, and his love of planes and building model airplanes. Along with his wife of 55 years, Marlene, Jack is SURVIVED by his children, Lolene (Mike) Osborn, Paul Greiner, Margaret (Mark) Eastley, Barb (Rodney) Schultz, Joanne (Steve) Saxe, Patty (Scott) King and Jim Greiner; 14 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lou Ann Kaule. A VISITATION with the family will be Wednesday, October 10, 5-8 PM at The Sytsema Chapel 737 Apple Avenue 231 726-5210 Burial will be in Egelston Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wings of Mercy.
