Mr. John M. Klinger's Obituary
Mr. John Marvin Klinger, age 72, passed away at home after a 13 year battle with PCA, a rare brain disease, surrounded by family. John was born February 23, 1942 in Muskegon to Earl and Leona (Hazekamp) Klinger. On March 9, 1962, he married the former Patricia Jean LaGrande in Muskegon and she survives him. John was a paperboy for eight years beginning at the age of 10. John was the National Sales Manager for Kysor Medallion for over 25 years and also spent several years with United Sign prior to his retirement. John was a member of Unity Reformed Church where he served as Elder, Deacon, Sunday School teacher, Youth Group leader and member of multiple committees. John enjoyed hiking, biking, boating and traveling. He also enjoyed the time he spent with family, especially his grandchildren. We remember John as a loving, caring, faithful, honorable, patient, optimistic, humorous and handsome gentleman. In addition to his wife of 52 years, John is survived by his children, Pamela (David) Buit and Julie (Kevin) Boucher, all of Muskegon and Timothy Klinger of Commerce, Michigan; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brother Earl (JoAnn) Klinger; and sisters, Ardis and Ruth Yonkers. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers-in-law Maurice and Harvey Yonkers. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Unity Reformed Church, 1521 Porter Road, with Rev. Kyle DeYoung officiating. VISITATION will be held from 2-4 and 6-8PM Tuesday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, 231-798-1100.
