John C. "Chuck" Koopman's Obituary
Mr. John C. “Chuck” Koopman, 56, passed away Friday, January 24, 2025 in Holton, MI. He was born March 16, 1968 to John and Henny (Herfst) Koopman in Muskegon, MI and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. John’s love for woodworking and working with his hands led him to own his own construction company, John Koopman Homes, which he owned until 2008. Prior to building, John worked as a general laborer at Johnson-Tech. John was an avid fisherman and hunter and found comfort in the woods or on the water. He will be remembered by his former wife Elaine Schmidt; son John Colton Koopman and sister Carolynn (Andy) Hilliard. John was preceded in death by his parents. Per John’s wishes, private services will be held. For those wishing to make an expression of sympathy, please consider the Muskegon Rescue Mission.
