I only knew John for a couple short years, but I always enjoyed talking with him about the neighborhood, the history of Stillwater Springs. He had such an amazing memory of things here over the years. He was so helpful anytime we needed it. He will be missed.
This was a man whose life was well lived...who served his country, his community, his church and his family with honor and distinction. He had much to be proud of and is worthy of everyone's admiration.
Rest in gentle peace good man.
John and I went to St Joseph’s Seminary and Muskegon Catholic Central together. Because I left Muskegon for a number of years, I have only seen him at MCC reunions since then. I am pleased to see he accomplished so many things in his life and played a major role at MCC. His family must be proud of him. Unfortunately, I am out of town now and return to Muskegon the day after the funeral. I will pray for John and his family.

What a WONDERFUL family 💕
This was long ago when I worked for an MD. Talk of the LaBash family were patients there. The main thing that I recall was the total kindness of him and his wife each time they needed to visit a doctor. It didn’t matter if the appointment was for one of them or their children, they were always patient and kind…🌸💕
Last Friday, my dad passed, having absolutely achieved his lifelong goal to help others. I will always remember him as the saying goes “A man is a boy who managed to survive”. My dad was a giant man with a great big, playful boy inside, who managed to survive an awful lot.
