John E. LaGorio Jr.'s Obituary
John E. LaGorio Jr, age 82, passed away in Muskegon, MI on Thursday, February 12, 2026. He was born on November 27, 1943, in Detroit, MI, to John and Gloria (nee Crozier) LaGorio. John attended Redford Union High School and went on to have a diverse career, working as an auto repairman, heat-treat specialist, oil field roustabout, greenskeeper, cook, and commercial truck driver. His curiosity and endless energy led him to many adventures throughout his life.
In 1976, John and his family moved to West Branch, MI, where he embraced small farming and gardening as special hobbies. An avid outdoorsman, he cherished days spent with friends and family in Michigan's woods and waters, always in search of his perfect buck or trout both locally and beyond our great state.
John is survived by his son, John III (Elizabeth Pitt) LaGorio of Muskegon, and his daughter, Barbara (William) White of West Branch; his sister, Sheryl (Ron) Ketelhut of Livonia, MI; three grandsons, Dwayne and Ted White, and John LaGorio IV; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gloria; his brother, William R. LaGorio; and his grandson, Dennis White.
John will be interred this summer at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia, MI, where he will join his parents and brother. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
