Mr. John E. Lazarock's Obituary
Mr. John Edward Lazarock, age 79, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at a local hospital. He was born December 15, 1932 in Muskegon to William and Catherine (Macheta) Lazarock and lived in the area his entire life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. On November 9, 1957, he married the former Joan Blamer in Muskegon and she survives him. John worked as a surveyor for the Muskegon County Road Commission for 44 years and retired in 1995. John had a lifetime hobby as a woodworker and enjoyed giving his masterpieces away for others to enjoy. John was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include his wife, Joan; 3 children, Michael (Dodie) Lazarock of Muskegon, Larry (Lois) Lazarock of Muskegon, Lisa (Wade) Wright of Hesperia; 6 grandchildren, DeAnna, Mark, Ryan, Nick, John and Chad; and 1 brother, William (Candice) Lazarock of Zeeland. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Alex Lazarock. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday, June 23, 2012 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Antony Britto as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery with military honors offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM today (Friday) at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM this evening. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass, 9-10 AM Saturday at the church.
