John E. Lumpp's Obituary
John E. Lumpp, age 63, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 20, 2016. He was born on February 19, 1953 to Ernst and Carolyn Lumpp in Muskegon. John was a member of Forest Park Covenant Church. He had retired from Sappi Fine Paper in 2009. He was an excellent cook, enjoyed gardening, reading, cruising in his jeep, but most importantly enjoyed spending time with his family. On May 6, 1977, he married Mary VanAndel and she survives him along with 3 children, Andrea Buntley, John (Kristin) Lumpp and Jeff (Tanja) Lumpp; grandchildren, Lexi, Brendan, Mackenzie, Tyler, Brooklynn, Johnny, Ryan and baby Lumpp due in October; father, Ernst (Helen) Lumpp; sister, Linda (Michael) Martini; in-laws, Harvey and Lois VanAndel; brother-in-law, Tom (Katherine) VanAndel; best friends, Bill and Kim Straley and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Lumpp. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for John will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Forest Park Covenant Church (3815 Henry St.) with Pastor Shelley Kurth officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6 – 8 PM Wednesday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Forest Park Covenant Church or Every Woman’s Place.
