John L. Lyons' Obituary
John L. Lyons, age 74, departed this life of Sunday, April 16, 2023. He was born on September 22, 1947, to Mr. John L. Lyons, Sr., and Willie Lou (Murphy) Lyons in Columbus, Mississippi. John was a graduate of Muskegon High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He loved his family, children, and friends. John leaves in God’s care: his eldest daughter LaReather Taylor, Tina Thomas, Loneasha Lyons, and John Lyons Jr., six sisters: Mildred (Lyons) Alston, Marion (Lyons) Hatcher, Michelle (Madison) Lyons, Rachelle Haynes, Loretta Lyons, and Linda Lyons, and one brother Andie Lyons; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father John L. Lyons, Sr. and mother Willie Lou Lyons. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
