John A. Morrison's Obituary
Mr. John A. Morrison, 83, passed away Wednesday evening, January 7, 2015. Born November 27, 1931 in Killarney, WV, to Chuck and Fannie (Hatcher) Morrison, he had lived in Muskegon for more than 40 years. John was the owner of Morrison Floor Covering on Apple Ave. for many years. He attended The Christian Life Center of Spring Lake, and other churches in Muskegon and Tennessee, as well as serving as pastor at a few. On November 26, 1954 he married the former Genevieve “Gen” Jackson in Muskegon, and she survives him along with three daughters: Sheila Morrison, Sheryl (Jeff) Lupien, and Kimberly Britton; seven grandchildren: Jennifer (Brad) Doyle, Jessica Lupien, and Alicia, LeAnne, Cody, Kayle and Rachel Britton; brothers: Frank (Dorothy) Morrison and Charlie (Tuffy) Morrison; and a sister, Maggie (Frank) Bryant. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Ola and Chris Christian. John enjoyed deer hunting and liked to build things. He was known as a craftsman when it came to installation of flooring, and continued to do installations even after selling the store and “retiring” in 1999.
