John N. Pape's Obituary
John N. Pape, age 56, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. He was born on July 12, 1966, in Bay City, MI, and moved to West Michigan, which he always considered to be his home. John graduated from Muskegon High School in 1984 (go Big Reds!) and shortly thereafter, served his country in the U.S. Navy. After traveling the country running his business Pape Delivery Quest (PDQ), he worked for Allstate Insurance before becoming a dispatcher for West Michigan Transportation, which became a true work family for John. On June 5, 2010, he married the love of his life, Tina Smith at Trinity Lutheran Church in Muskegon. Together they cherished 13 years of love and laughter. John was a faithful servant of Our Lord and a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Muskegon, and most recently at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Grand Rapids, where he enjoyed his church families and acting as a volunteer whenever he could. John liked spending his time out on the greens golfing, enjoying a peaceful night around a bonfire, or throwing darts. He was a talented cook and baker, determined to always make dinners with family and friends the best, each time! Above all, John was a family man, always surrounded by the many who loved him. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, wonderful son, and an amazing brother, uncle, and dear friend to many. John is survived by his wife, Tina Pape; parents, Donald (Heather) Pape, and Marguerite (Robert) Stapleton; mother-in-law, Joyce Smith; step-children, Dan (Allie) Konyndyk, and Tanya Konyndyk; grandson, Thayne Walters; and siblings, Mark (Cindi) Pape, Lynn (Bob) Richardson, and Laura Lou (Justin) McCarthy. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Visitations with the family will be held from 6-8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, and from 12-1:00 PM on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at the funeral home.
