John Lawrence Patterson's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the death of John Lawrence Patterson, age 44, of Grand Haven. After a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Luekemia (AML), John died on February 28, 2021. There will be a private family service, and a celebration of life honoring John will be held at future date.
John was born November 19, 1976 in Warren to Linda and John Patterson. He was a 1995 graduate of Eisenhower High School, and a 2000 graduate of Michigan State University with degrees in Accounting and Construction Management. John was a CPA, realtor, home builder, and most recently he achieved his goal of owning his own business. He loved football, skiing, cars, and being outdoors. But most of all, John loved being a dad and spending time with his family. John was a lifelong learner who was committed to honesty, fulfillment and peace. He was grateful for second chances, and the love and support of family and friends.
John is survived by his “ride or die” wife of 15 years, Leslie, children: Emmett (8), Ellie (5), and Henry (2), parents, Linda and John Patterson of Shelby Township, brother, Mike (Allison) Patterson and their children: Julia, Jake, and Stella, of Northville, mother-in-law, Mary Moburg, sister-in-law, Laura (Troy) Koszegi and children, Logan and Brennan, brother-in-law, Philip (Jane) Curtis, and children: Eva, Elena and George, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
John and his family are extremely grateful for the excellent care provided by Dr. Brett Brinker and the staff at Cancer and Hematology Centers of Western Michigan, and the nurses on the Oncology and ICU floors at Butterworth Hospital.
John’s family requests that people please consider becoming a blood donor with the American Red Cross as blood and blood products were life saving for John during his treatment.
