John H. Peters' Obituary
John H. Peters, age 73, passed away Feb 7, 2017, after his courageous battle with Leukemia. He is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Nancy King and her husband Keith; granddaughter, Kaylynn; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Geneva Peters; brother, Robert; sister, Phyllis Timmins and her husband Vern. John was raised in Williamston, MI and was Chief of Police of his hometown for a period of time. From there he furthered his career in sales working for various tire companies and finally retiring from Jerry's Tire in Lake Odessa. John resided in Muskegon for many years and was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. His passion was golfing and he attacked the course with a competitive spirit in the same manner he lived life. Many who golfed by his side, can be amused by his rumblings throughout the course. He believed that golf, like life, had to be played with earnest and 9 holes was not acceptable. We hope that his choice words are not used during his golf game in Heaven, his drives will stay in the fairways, and his chips will always reach the green! In honor of his wishes, the family will not have visitation but cherish his contribution to enriching their lives. In lieu of flowers, please consider contributions to a charity of your choice or simply go enjoy 18 holes of golf in his honor.
