John D. Potter's Obituary
John D. Potter, age 56, met his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 2, 2021. He was born on December 21, 1964, in Muskegon, MI and has lived there all his life. He was a dedicated employee of the Shape Corporation, where he worked as a repair technician for over 15 years. John was a man of many talents; he was a skilled boxer for many years and was said to be a two-time Golden Glove Champion in Muskegon. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions and loved to root for the University of Michigan Wolverines. John took pleasure in enjoying the simple aspects of life. He appreciated taking joy rides in his car with no destination in mind, windows down just listening to George Jones on the radio with his brother. He had a passion for cooking and feeding others and enjoyed a refreshing Rum and Coke every now and again. John was an avid storyteller, he liked sharing his life with those he loved the most. Above all things, he was a man of God and a family man. John was a proud father and wonderful grandfather who loved and cherish his children and grandchildren more than anything else in the world. He was a vivacious and funny man who filled a room with laughter. His big heart, yet stubborn personality will truly be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his 7 children, John Potter, James (Ashley) Potter, Jasmine Major, Jessica Potter, Jolisa Potter, Julian (Jasmine) Potter and Jamesia Potter; mother, Carmen Potter; 15 grandchildren, Ethan, Alayna, Aiden, Emery, Alayna, Laisa, Juelz, Heavenly, Maliyah, Aviana, Amelah, Anthony, Jelena, James, Javyn, and one on the way, baby Ezekiel; 5 brothers, Joseph E. (Linda) Potter, Daniel M.R. (Rosemary) Potter, Donald E. (Michael) Potter, Paul J. (Erin) Potter and Charles E. (Jennifer) Potter; 4 sisters, Violet Hillsburg, Ruby Williams, Cathy Potter and Lisa (Scott) Wilson; girlfriend, Lynn Pastras; and many dear friends.
