John Repta's Obituary
Mr. John Repta, age 92, passed away Sunday evening, January 12, 2014, in Muskegon. He was born June 1, 1921 in Chicago, IL; and has resided in the Muskegon area since 1921. He was a US Army veteran of WWII; and was a past-member of the Catholic War Veterans. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Prior to his retirement, John had worked at various automotive dealerships; and among them was Matson Oldsmobile Cadillac, where he had been employed 20 years. On October 23, 1948 he married the former Mollie Elizabeth Mertens and she survives him along with their 2 children, Michael (Debi) Repta of Muskegon and Mary Paparella of Grand Haven; 4 grandchildren, John Repta, Lesa Repta, Nicole (Bob) Paschall and Megan Paparella; one sister-in-law, Jody Gubach of Muskegon; and by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 10:30AM Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Matthew Barnum presiding. VISITATION with John’s family will be one hour prior to Mass at church. Burial will be in Mona View Cemetery.
