I would like to express my sympathy for your deepest loss.
It is during times of loss that many wondered where can we find help during times of such great pain. I suffered the loss of my mother several years ago. I and my family find great comfort when we reflect very deeply and often on Jesus promises in the Bible.
Jesus clearly said in John 11:25: I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life. Below is a link to a video based on this promise and the amazing miracle performed by Jesus with the family Lazarus at John 11: 3-6, 12-15, 21-45 in the Bible.
The video shows some of the emotions a family experience at the death of a loved one. But as one imagine what the resurrection promise really means to them individually, one can imagine what it would like to have their loved ones in their loving arms again on a paradise earth where: he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. And the One seated on the throne said: Look! I am making all things new. Also he says: Write, for these words are faithful and true.
During those times when the memories about the death of your husband, father, or grandfather makes you especially sad, think about Jesus promise that death is not the end and imagine what it would be like to see your dear love one again.
In the video it shows the profound joy one will experience when Jesus carry out this promise in the future here on earth.
